over 120 years four generations of the Savinelli family have been creating
pipes of the highest quality. Each pipe is handcrafted by dedicated artisans
who love their work. The wood purchased must all be good enough for their
top pipes,because it is only when the bowls have been turned, after the wood has been
carefully dried and cured, that they can be sorted. Any surface flaws, and
the amount of hard/soft grain, are what differentiate the gradings. It follows that whichever pipe you choose, the bowl will be hard,
dry and
porous, ensuring
a good smoke. |

Savinelli “Regimental”
As usual, Savinelli has created a pipe design with a story:
Honouring the British Armed Forces, School and Club ties, Savinelli has developed a Regimental pipe in the colours of the 22nd Cheshire Regiment of Foot.
The Regiment was drafted by the Duke of Norfolk in 1869 and its existence continued until August 2007 when it was amalgamated with two other regiments to form the new Mercian Regiment
The finishes are either smooth chestnut colour or rusticated chestnut colour, with matching colour mouthpieces.
Chestnut and gold bands join shank and mouthpiece – the colours of the Regiment.
We chose 4 very different shapes, each available in smooth or rusticated.

Savinelli writes about the aim of the series:
We chose a famous and strong character for this pipe with a stem specifically drawn: a single piece, with a ring high on the shank that hovers as a swift tail toward the bit. A little silver color ring separates the stem to the pipe, giving it the importance it deserves
The Natural honey-brown, smooth finish pipes show the clean bowls to perfection, with plenty of hard briar.

Savinelli Miele
Miele – the pipe with honey in its soul

This pipe continues in the “flavour” series
(which started with Chocolate and Coffee).
A sweet-toned honey colour bowl is complemented by the unusual mouthpiece which is reminiscent of the hive of a bee.
The paste lining the bowl has a delicate scent of nectar.
The accompanying tamper is in the style of the classic honey collecting tool.
Savinelli Fuoco (Fire)
– inspired by the painting “Il Fuoco” by Giuseppe Arcimboldo
Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna
The Italian painter is best known for creating imaginative portrait heads made entirely of objects related to the subject of the particular painting, in this case fire.
Savinelli has created three finishes based on “Il Fuoco”, we have selected two, with 6mm option.
They feature on the shank a polished aluminium band, in two steps, with a tapered mouthpiece.

Savinelli created for this series a new type of rustication
It is fairly shallow with smooth highlights and with beautiful colour contrasts hinting of glowing embers.

Fuoco (Fire) Deep Brown Smooth finish
The smooth deep brown finish is obtained using only natural pigment.
The grain is only partly concealed, showing through like glimpses of flames in the dark.

The taste of a top quality pipe at a price approaching budget
The bowls will have surface flaws and fillings, less conspicuous when the pipe is stained and polished.
But remember that all grades of Savinelli bowls receive the same curing treatment ensuring that they give a good smoke.
Optional 6mm filter, Teflon peg.
Style, quality and value!
After curing, the bowl is left untouched.
The pipe can be smoked as is – you could lightly sand off
the inevitable ash marks.
Or stain and polish it yourself – perfect for the DIY smoker
