Denicotea “adsorba” pipes

Denicotea – old masters in the “filter” industry.

Traditionally their market has been cigarette holders, and pipes are relatively new, but they have assembled a good selection of traditional and modern shapes and finishes.
We chose the Denicotea “Adsorba” pipe with an optional 9mm filter.

Use any 9mm filter – but not the Denicotea Silica Gel Crystal cigarette holder filters. Pipes get too hot for them.Fine looking pipes in a satin-russet finish with distinctive contrasting grain, and 10 really comfortable shapes. Very light, indicating the quality of the briar – and very well-priced.
We‘re delighted to add them to our range of pipes.

“Denicool Filter Crystals”. These can be used for extra absorption (for the modern highly cased tobaccos) and are especially useful for those pipes which don’t take a filter in the shank.

WATCHPOINT
A most important word of warning about filter pipes:
Filter pipes must be smoked with either the filter or an adapter (usually supplied with the pipe).
Smoking without the filter (or adapter), even once, will allow moisture to condense in the empty space and seep into the shank, causing it to swell. This will result in a cracked shank, or a loose mouthpiece which is very difficult to remedy. If this happens to you, take it in to your nearest Wesley’s for an opinion.
The Tenon/Peg is tougher than the wood!
Keep it clean so it won’t stick. Wipe and pencil it occasionally so it slides easily.
